About Mary-Louise Clark

Mary Louise ClarkMY APPROACH
I am passionate about the skills involved with all aspects of communication. My approach is pragmatic, action focused and results driven. My clients tell me I help them set clear and achievable objectives and ensure that words become actions. I challenge my clients to stretch themselves and their teams and receive consistently high feedback for the work that I do. I also believe that laughter and enjoyment provide the best possible backdrop for creative thinking and constructive learning and development.

MY BACKGROUND
I have been working as a coach, trainer, facilitator and role player for more than ten years with experience throughout the public and private sectors. Having originally graduated from Cambridge University I worked as an actor for the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company and ran my own practice as a vocal coach. Following this I developed my skills in the corporate sector specialising in personal impact coaching and facilitation.

MY EXPERIENCE
I have been involved in a huge variety of projects with a wide client base from Whitehall Departments and Government Agencies to High Street Retail Chains, Multi National Companies, Charities and Lloyds Syndicates.
I am an Associate of the National School of Government supplying them with my specialist area of Personal Impact coaching, Executive Coaching and Theatre Based training. I am a preferred supplier of Leadership and Impact Coaching for Senior staff at The Department for Business Innovation and Skills and supply Executive Coaches to the London Development Agency.

FACILITATION

Since 2004 I have been a member of the facilitation teams for the cross Whitehall creative thinking facility futurefocus and the iLabs network at University of Essex. This sector and further education has involved me as a facilitator in a number of high profile government programmes including:

The London 2012 Olympics (Olympic Delivery Authority),

I specialise in strategy planning team days, stakeholder engagement groups, understanding team behaviours and maximising effectiveness, team building days and follow up to staff surveys.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS TRAINING
I design and deliver a wide portfolio of both one to one and group tailor made, experiential Communication Skills training including presentation skills, personal impact, voice for business, influencing, stakeholder relationship management, managing tough conversations and dealing with difficult people.

COACHING

My Executive Coaching clients come with a broad spectrum of issues they wish to tackle including improving specific work relationships, developing leadership style and personal brand, making an impact, establishing career goals and dealing with lapses of personal confidence for whatever reason. I am a warm and sympathetic coach and sometimes this means that organisations I work with ask me to meet staff members for a one off crisis coaching session. Having said that I am always aware of the need to appropriately challenge clients to ensure they are able to create realistic goals and then to reach them.
